Job Title: Golf Shop Associate

Location: Hilton Head National Golf Club, Bluffton, SC

Reports to: Head Golf Professional

Job Summary: Hilton Head National Golf Club is seeking an aspiring Assistant Golf Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily operations of the golf shop, provide exceptional customer service and help maintain the overall standards and reputation of our club.

Key Responsibilities:                                                                  

  1. Golf Shop Operations:
    • Assist in the management of daily golf shop activities, including opening and closing procedures.
    • Oversee inventory control, merchandising, and sales.
    • Handle guest inquiries, reservations, and tee time bookings.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked golf shop.
  2. Customer Service:
    • Provide outstanding customer service to guests.
    • Address and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
    • Assist in organizing and promoting club events and tournaments.
  3. Tournament and Event Coordination:
    • Assist in the planning and execution of club tournaments and special events.
    • Prepare and manage tournament scorecards, pairings, and results.
    • Coordinate with the course superintendent and food & beverage team to ensure smooth event operations.
  4. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of transactions and inventory.
    • Ensure compliance with club policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role at a reputable golf club.
  • Strong knowledge of the game of golf, including rules, etiquette, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in golf shop software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Passion for golf and a commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
